BlackFin’s portfolio companies is a leading German capital management company (KVG) with more than €400 billion in assets under administration, serving institutional investors across Europe. BlackFin Capital Partners is a European private equity firm specializing in investments in high-growth financial services companies. The firm currently manages over €4 billion in assets and invests through its two most recent funds: BlackFin Financial Services Fund IV (€1.8 billion) and BlackFin Tech 2 (€390 million).

ASPORTO is being established as a dedicated and strategic Service Center for the capital management company. It is designed to serve as a key operational hub, delivering high-quality fund accounting and management company services while setting new benchmarks in scalability, process efficiency, and service excellence.

This role is with ASPORTO and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the development and long-term success of the Porto platform.

We are seeking Senior Specialists to join our Operations Services team in our Porto office.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise & Oversight: Act as a Senior Specialist and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex fund accounting topics across Transaction Services and Reconciliation Services, providing expert guidance across the organization.
  • Trade Processing & Reconciliations: Perform and review daily trade processing across all asset classes, ensuring accurate capture, booking, and reconciliation of positions and transactions across custodians, fund managers, brokers, and counterparties.
  • Cash & Data Integrity: Review and reconcile cash balances and movements, resolve reconciliation breaks across all bank accounts and asset classes, and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Escalation & Issue Ownership: Serve as the escalation point for critical and complex cases, taking ownership of issue resolution and escalation processes as required.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Handle, prioritize, and resolve queries with internal and external stakeholders, including fund managers, custodians, brokers, and internal teams.
  • Compliance & Controls: Drive full compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and regulatory requirements across all activities.
  • NAV, Accounting & Knowledge Transfer: Support the accurate preparation of NAV calculations and accounting records while mentoring colleagues to strengthen technical expertise within the team.
  • Client Service & Process Excellence: Deliver high-quality client service within the defined operating model while actively driving process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives.
  • Leadership & Expert Support: Provide expert guidance and escalation support to team members, as well as to senior and management stakeholders.
  • Project & Change Initiatives: Proactively contribute to projects related to new product launches, system migrations, regulatory changes, and process transitions, working closely with colleagues in Germany.

 

Your Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on expertise and a collaborative approach, with outstanding teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of managing complex cases independently.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills or willingness to learn German are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of topics, and deliver solutions under time pressure.
