To support the continued growth of a portfolio company of BlackFin Capital Partners, ASPORTO, Unipessoal Lda. is recruiting for this position based in Porto, Portugal. 

BlackFin’s portfolio companies is a leading German capital management company (KVG) with more than €400 billion in assets under administration, serving institutional investors across Europe. BlackFin Capital Partners is a European private equity firm specializing in investments in high-growth financial services companies. The firm currently manages over €4 billion in assets and invests through its two most recent funds: BlackFin Financial Services Fund IV (€1.8 billion) and BlackFin Tech 2 (€390 million).

ASPORTO is being established as a dedicated and strategic Service Center for the capital management company. It is designed to serve as a key operational hub, delivering high-quality fund accounting and management company services while setting new benchmarks in scalability, process efficiency, and service excellence.

This role is with ASPORTO and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the development and long-term success of the Porto platform.

We are seeking a Team Lead to join our Middle Office Services team in our Porto office.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the Middle Office Cash Payments team, providing mentorship and facilitating knowledge transfer to build expertise across all levels.
  • Workflow Oversight: Manage daily operations using a customized workflow system, maintaining a holistic, end-to-end perspective and ensuring timely, accurate processing of invoices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. creditors, custodians or asset managers). Act as the primary contact for escalations and complex queries and collaborate strongly with the HQ team.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure seamless daily business activities, uphold high service standards, and maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Process & Reporting Improvement: Drive process optimization, standardization, and automation initiatives; prepare management reports and KPIs to support informed decision-making.
  • Project & Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead or support projects including system migrations and regulatory changes, collaborating closely with the HQ team and external partners.

 

Your Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fund operations, middle office, transaction processing, or a similar area, including leadership or coordination responsibilities.
  • Proven leadership potential, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members.
  • Strong prioritization and execution skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Hands-on approach, demonstrating excellent teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a confident, professional appearance.
  • Solid understanding of financial instruments.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, with experience in accounting systems; familiarity with SimCorp Dimension is a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analytics and data processing.
  • Fluent in English.
