To support the continued growth of a portfolio company of BlackFin Capital Partners, ASPORTO, Unipessoal Lda. is recruiting for this position based in Porto, Portugal.

BlackFin’s portfolio companies is a leading German capital management company (KVG) with more than €400 billion in assets under administration, serving institutional investors across Europe. BlackFin Capital Partners is a European private equity firm specializing in investments in high-growth financial services companies. The firm currently manages over €4 billion in assets and invests through its two most recent funds: BlackFin Financial Services Fund IV (€1.8 billion) and BlackFin Tech 2 (€390 million).

ASPORTO is being established as a dedicated and strategic Service Center for the capital management company. It is designed to serve as a key operational hub, delivering high-quality fund accounting and management company services while setting new benchmarks in scalability, process efficiency, and service excellence.

This role is with ASPORTO and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the development and long-term success of the Porto platform.

 

We are seeking a Team Lead to join our Operations Services team in our Porto office.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, motivate and develop the Transaction Processing and Reconciliation Teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative working environment.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure accurate and timely daily processing of trades and reconciliations across all asset classes, in full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal control standards.
  • NAV & Accounting Integrity: Support your teams in the preparation of NAV calculations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of accounting records.
  • Performance Management & KPIs: Take full ownership of operational KPIs across all processes, driving continuous performance improvement while ensuring adherence to regulatory, audit, and internal control standards.
  • Resource & Talent Management: Contribute to effective team resource planning, including staffing decisions, interviewing, and active involvement in the recruitment process.
  • Reporting & Transparency: Prepare and contribute to management reports and KPI analyses, providing clear visibility into operational performance and process quality.
  • Process Excellence & Automation: Lead process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives while promoting continuous development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Client Service & Project Delivery: Deliver excellent client service within the defined operating model and actively contribute to projects such as new product launches, system migrations, and regulatory changes in close collaboration with the HQ team in Germany.

 

Your Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fund operations, middle office, transaction processing, or a similar area, including leadership or coordination responsibilities.
  • Proven leadership potential, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members.
  • Strong prioritization and execution skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Hands-on approach, demonstrating excellent teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a confident, professional appearance.
  • Solid understanding of financial instruments.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, with experience in accounting systems; familiarity with SimCorp Dimension is a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analytics and data processing.
  • Fluent in English.
